News
Ealing Cycling Campaign meets Boris Johnson at Ealing Broadway railway station.
ECC representatives met London Mayor Boris Johnson, Jason Stacey, Ealing Council leader, and First Great Western managers in October 2009. We discussed cycle ramps, step-free access to platforms and better cycle parking.
Alas, the opinion was that cycle ramps are not feasible due to high passenger volumes. ECC, of course, are not deterred by this disappointing outcome and are currently looking for a suitable site for a ramp.
On the other hand, Boris was was willing to support better cycle parking facilities and improved access to the station. He agreed to explore the possible reopening of the District Line entrance.
The imminent Crossrail project means it is hard to get short to medium term improvements carried out, as a whole new station is planned by 2016.
Rides Socail ride the first Sunday of the month. Meet at 10am at Ealing Town Hall. More info via the ECC website link on the right.
