Cycle route maps for London
The London Cycle Guides are a set of cycle route maps developed by LCC and Transport for London, covering all of London and the surrounding areas.
The maps, which were originally developed as an LCC project and were released as a joint venture between Transport for London and LCC for the first time in 2002, show lots of useful information for cyclists, including official cycle routes and quieter roads recommended by cyclists as well as cycle parking at stations and off-road motor traffic-free routes.
The maps were updated in August 2007. The 14 new maps replace the old print run of 19, thanks to a double-sided design that allows them to cover twice as much territory. The central London map that occupied the reverse side of the old maps has been replaced by an enlarged map dedicated to central London. The colour schemes remain the same with routes highlighted in blue and yellow, with purple added to highlight areas closed to cyclists.
The maps are free and are widely available from some tube stations, bus garages, health and sports centres, doctors' surgeries and bike shops. You can also order them online by following the link on the right, or by calling Transport for London's 24 hour information line on 020 7222 1234.
