Getting started/cycle training
Free cycle training is a great way to build up your skill and confidence on London's roads.
All London's boroughs provide free or subsidised training. Follow the link on the right for more details.
The free London cycle maps are really useful for beginners too. Sticking to the coloured cycle routes helps you avoid busy roads, and find cycle lanes and traffic-free paths.
The maps are distributed by Transport for London and were developed using LCC's expert knowledge. They're available from the TfL website by following the link on the right.
There's lots more useful info on these Advice pages too, and more help is available from your LCC local group – such as escorted rides to work and maintenance classes – so don't hesitate to make your bike part of everyday life.
