London is enjoying a surge of interest in cycling. Now it’s time to recognise the good work that has encouraged people to cycle.

London Cycling Campaign would like your nominations for this year’s London Cycling Awards 2008. This is the ideal opportunity to showcase the hard work, talent and inspiration behind London’s cycle projects.

The award categories this year are:

  • Best Cycle Facility

  • Best Community Cycling Initiative

  • Best Cycling Initiative for Young People or Children

  • Best Workplace Cycling Initiative

Nominations might include community events to recruit new cyclists, cycle training projects, rides and maintenance workshops for young cyclists, riding projects aimed at specific groups in the community, new cycle routes, cycle parking provision and new facilities at a school or workplace.

Please submit your own project or any other project or cycle facility you consider worth nominating and pass this email on to anyone who you think may be interested in sending in a nomination, whether it’s a local community group, school, youth club, employer, council officer or organisation.

This year the winners will receive prizes as well as certificates.

You can download the criteria for the awards and details on how to submit a nomination using the links on the right.
