LCC launches Bus Lane Watch awareness and monitoring campaign

The mayor’s decision to allow an 18-month trial of motorbikes in bus lanes prompted LCC to launch Bus Lane Watch, an awareness and monitoring campaign.

To launch the campaign, LCC volunteers donned panto dame costumes in front of City Hall and showed off placards with the message "It's behind you!"

LCC is concerned many won't be aware of the new rule, so is warning cyclists to "Be Aware, Take Extra Care" of potentially dangerous fast-moving motorbikes.

Thousands of palm-size cards have been handed out to cyclists in London during the first few days of the trial to improve awareness.
